3rd and 4th class were very lucky today as they received a visit from Cloughjordan Fire Brigade. A big thank you to Declan and Marcie who talked to the children about fire safety, their role as firefighters and what to do when there is a fire. They brought in lots of equipment and explained their functions and they even brought in all the heavy duty gear to wear when there is a fire, including a big heavy oxygen tank and mask for breathing. Some of the staff even got to try it on and were timed on how long it took to put on all the gear. Everyone really enjoyed the talk and learned a lot and gained a huge appreciation for everything our fire service does for the community. A huge thank you for an enjoyable and valuable talk.
