3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes were very lucky to have taken part in an animation workshop with the brilliant Mike Byrne who is an animator with his very own YouTube channel called Let’s animate with Mike. Mike taught the boys and girls important skills and tricks when creating stop motion animation. They learned how to storyboard, create their characters, create their setting, move their characters a small piece at a time. Each time they moved their character they took a photo and when those hundreds of photos play one after another it creates a movie, just like magic! Once their stop motion movies were made they began the editing phase just like real animators in Disney or Dreamworks. They added voiceovers, sound effects and music as the final touches. All that was left to do was to sit back and eat popcorn for the premier!🍿 A massive thank you to Mike Byrne for a fantastic learning experience for the children who thoroughly enjoyed every second of their animation workshop.
